Indian education system is considered more than several thousand years old. When west still relatively was just in the primitive stages. India followed Gurukula system which taught students Vedas, puranas. . Nitisatras etc. These contained large amount of pithy verses which were called "Subhashtham" In sanskrit. They were highlyeducative. Humourous, philosophical. And highly thought provoking,and are rightly called "Time less Wisdom of India".
I have pleasure in presenting a large amount of Subhashit ani which I hope will be useful to the young and the old. There is no original ity. Involved and not a book for the scholars.
