यत्र नार्यस्तु पूज्यन्ते रमन्ते तत्र देवताः।
यत्रैतास्तु न पूज्यन्ते सर्वास्तत्राफला क्रिया:॥
Yatra
naryastu pujyante ramante tatra Devata, yatraitaastu na pujyante
sarvaastatrafalaahkriyaah" is an often-quoted Manu's saying.
Manusmriti (3.56)
Wherever women are given
their due respect, even the deities like to reside there and where they are not
respected, all actions remain unfruitful.
कोकिलानां स्वरो रूपं नार्या रूपं पतिव्रतम् ।
विद्या रूपं कुरूपाणां क्षमा रूपं तपस्विनाम् ॥
Cuckoos'
beauty is their voice. Women’s attraction point is in being husband-devoted.
Elegance of ugly men is learning (having knowledge) and sages’ grace is
forgiveness.
अलङ्कारो हि नारीणां क्षमा तु पुरुषस्य वा।
दुष्करं तच्च यत् क्षान्तं त्रिदशेषु विशेषत:।।1.33.7।।
यादृशी व: क्षमा पुत्र्यस्सर्वासामविशेषत:।
Whether for women or men
forgiveness is an ornament. It is difficult even for gods. For you, daughters,
to show it without any difference of opinion is especially hard. -Janaka
to his daughters
ताराणां भूशणं चन्द्रॉ नारीणां भूशणं पति: |
प्रुथिव्या भूशणं राजा विद्या सर्वस्य भूशणं ||
Taaraa naam bhushanam chandro
naareenaam bhushanam patihi |
pruthivyaa bhushanam raajaa vidyaa sarvasya bhushanam ||
Stars are moon's ornament. Husband is the ornament
for a woman
King is the ornament for earth. Knowledge is the ornament for everyone

Alankaaro hi naareenaam
kshamaa tu puirushasya cha.
Dushkaram taccha vah kshaantam tradasheshu visheshatah.
Tolerance is like a decoration for women, as also
in the
case of men . But being so is very difficult, especially being very
patient and of divine nature.
आसीत्पूर्वं विमलजलधौ मण्डनं भूपतीनां
नारीणां च प्रबलमुकुटे काञ्चनेन प्रसङ्गात् |
तन्त्रीबद्धः कथमिदमहोकाचखण्डेन सार्धं
भिल्लीकण्ठे मरकतमणे कामवस्थां गतोSसि ||
Aaseet-poorvam
vimala-jaladhau mandanam bhoopatenaam.
Naareenaam cha prabala-mukute kaaaaanchanena prasangaat.
Tantreebaddhah katha-midamaho-kaachakhandena saardham.
Bhillee-kanthe marakat-maane kaamavasthaam gatosi.
O
emerald gem ! initially you were inside the mighty Ocean,
and afterwards by your association with Gold you adorned the crowns
of kings and the tiaras of beautiful ladies. Ah! tell me as
to how you
are now in such a bad situation that you are now stringed in a garland
along with ordinary glass beads and pieces and being worn on the
neck by a triba woman ?
एष धर्मो मयाख्यातो नारीणां परमा गतिः ।
या नारी कुरुते चान्यत् सा याति नरकं ध्रुवम् ॥
eṣa dharmo mayākhyāto nārīṇāṃ
paramā gatiḥ |
yā nārī kurute cānyat sā yāti narakaṃ dhruvam ||
This eternal dharma of very great repute is the
path to women for the highest good.Those who sway from dharma they will go to
narakam.
अशक्तस्तु भवेत् साधुर् ब्रह्मचारी व निर्धनः ।
व्याधितो देवभक्तश्च वृद्धा नारी पतिव्रता ॥
aśaktastu bhavet sādhur brahmacārī va nirdhanaḥ |
vyādhito devabhaktaśca vṛddhā nārī pativratā ||
Powerless man becomes a sadhu, penniless a
bachelor, man suffering from illness becomes a bhaktha, an elderly woman a
pativratha,
