 SUBHASHITHANI:625

अर्थानामीश्वरो : स्याद् इन्द्रियाणामनीश्वर:
इन्द्रियाणामनैश्वर्याद् ऐश्वर्याद् भ्रश्यते हि : ।।.३४.६३
arthānāmīśvarō ya: syād indriyāṇāmanīśvara:
indriyāṇāmanaiśvaryād aiśvaryād bhraśyatē hi sa: ।।
He who is the master of riches but not of his senses, certainly loses his riches in consequence of his want of mastery over his senses.
अर्थानारभते बालो नानुबन्धमवेक्षते।
 तस्मादरिं मृष्यन्ति बालमर्थपरायणम्।।
Arthaanaarabhate baalo naanubhandamavekshayate I
Tasmat arim na mrushyanti baalamartha paraayanam II2-15-15
The one with childish understanding starts off the task without thinking about future consequences. Hence, such an enemy, serving his self-interests, and possessing immature understanding, is never forgiven.
अर्थी तु शक्यते भोक्तुं कृतकार्योऽवमन्यते
तस्मात्सर्वाणि कार्याणि सावशेषाणि कारयेत् १२.१४०.२०
Arthi tu shakyate bhoktum kkrutakaaryo avamanyate I
Tasmaatsarvaani kaaryaani saavasseshaani kaarayet II12.140.20
One takes note of someone else only till he needs other’s help for completing a job. Once the job is done he is sure to ignore the other. Hence, always leave some thing unfinished.
अर्थेन हि विहीनस्य पुरुषस्याल्पमेधसः
विच्छिद्यन्ते क्रियाः सर्वा ग्रीष्मे कुसरितो यथा १२..१८
Arthena hi vihinasya purushasyaalpamedhasah I
Vichidyante kriyaah sarvaa greesme kusarito yathaa II12.8.18
Of a person who has no money and  a little intellect, all his actions get destroyed like a small river in summer.
अर्थेभ्यो हि विवृद्धेभ्यः संभूतेभ्यस्ततस्ततः
क्रियाः सर्वाः प्रवर्तन्ते पर्वतेभ्य इवापगाः १२..१६
Arthebhyo hi vivruddhebhyah sambhootebhyas tatastatah I
Kriyaah sarvaah pravartante parvatebhya ivagaah II
By the treasures brought from place to place and augmented by means of various strategies, all the tasks are indeed fulfilled, as the rivers flow from the mountains." 
अर्थे सर्वे समारम्भाः समायत्ता संशयः
दण्डे समायत्तः पश्य दण्डस्य गौरवम् १२.१५.४८
Arthe sarve samarambhah samayaataa na samshayah I
Sa cha dande samaayatah pasya dandasya gauravam II
Wealth makes all activities possible,with out any doubt, which in turn is possible because of fear of punishment.
अर्धं भार्या मनुष्यस्य भार्या श्रेष्ठतमः सखा
भार्या मूलं त्रिवर्गस्य भार्या मूलं तरिष्यतः .७४.४१
Ardham bhaaryaa manushyasya bharyaa shreshtatamah sakhaa I
Bhaaryaa moolam trivargasya bhaaryaa moolam tarishyatah II
Wife is half of the Man and a man’s best friend. Wife forms the basis of Morality, prosperity and desire (dharma, artha, and kaama )  through which one attains salvation.
अलातं तिन्दुकस्येव मुहूर्तमपि हि ज्वल
मा तुषाग्निरिवानर्चिर्धूमायस्व जिजीविषुः .१३३.१४
Alaatam tindukasyeva muhurtamapi hi jvala I
Maa tushagnirivaanarchih dhoomaayasva jijeevishuh II
Like burning of a tree, blaze just only for a moment. Do not be like a fire of burning husk, keep giving out smoke, just for the sake of living.(Tinduka-a kind of tree).
