आकिञ्चन्ये न मोक्षोऽस्ति किञ्चन्ये
नास्ति बन्धनम्
|
किञ्चन्ये चेतरे
चैव जन्तुर्ज्ञानेन
मुच्यते ||
akinchanye na moksho'sti kinchanye nasti
bandhanam |
kinchanye chetare chaiva janturjnanena muchyate ||
A simple
life of poverty Is not a path to salvation.
A lavish life with property Is not a path to damnation.
It’s neither wealth nor misery It’s knowledge that will set you free.
आगमानां हि सर्वेषामाचारः श्रेष्ठ उच्यते ।
आचारप्रभवो धर्मो धर्मादायुर्विवर्धते ॥ १३.१०४.१५६
āgamānāṃ hi sarveṣām ācāraḥ śreṣṭha ucyate।
ācāraprabhavo dharmo dharmādāyurvivardhate॥
In all scriptures, following moral code is said to be of the greatest importance. Good conduct gives rise to dharma, and dharma gives Ayush.

A king must first subjugate himself and next his enemies. If he can’t subjugate himself, how can he subjugate external enemies?

Vishayendriyavasham maanavaah prahasanti tam II
The one who is becoming a slave to the senses to enjoy the subject, does not control his mind, if he starts preaching good deeds to others, then people laugh at him.
