लभते बुद्धयवज्ञानमवमानं च भारत ॥ ५.३९.२
Apraptakalam vachanam bruhaspatirapi bruvan ।
Labhate buddhyavagyaanam avamaanam cha bharata ॥
Oh Bharata, even if Bruhaspati were to utter words at the wrong time,
he will be accused of being ignorant and subject to insults.
अबलस्य कुतो राज्यमराज्ञः श्रीर्भवेत्कुतः ॥ १२.१३३.४
Abalsya kuto rajyam araagyah shri bhavet ktutah II
From where will the weak acquire wealth? And how will the unwealthy one acquire power? Also, how will the kingdom of a powerless one survive? And if the kingdom is lost then how will its wealth remain? –12.133.4
न कश्चिद्गुणसम्पन्नः प्रकाशो भुवि दृश्यते ॥ ३.२०७.५०
Abhruvan kasyachin nindaat aatmapoojaamavarnayan I
Na kaschitgunasampannah prakasho bhuvi drushyate II3.207.50
It is not seen that any meritorious man comes to prominence in the world without criticizing someone and without self-praise.
त्यागयुक्तं महाराज सर्वमेव महाफलम् ॥ १२.१२.१६
Abhimana krutam karma naitat phalavad uchyate I
Thyaga yuktam maharaja sarvameva mahaphalam II12.12.16
Actions performed with pride does not produce good results; all actions carried out with the spirit of sacrifice will produce great results .( Nakula to Yudhishtira )
दारिद्रयं पातकं लोके न तच्छंसितुमर्हति ॥ १२.८.१४
Abhishastam prapasyanti daridram paarshvatah stitham I
Daaridrayam paatakam loke na tachchamsitum arhati. II12.8.14
If a poor man stands near, people look at him with derision. Poverty is a curse in this world and hence should not be glorified.
सैव दुर्भाषिता राजन्ननथार्योपपद्यते ॥ ५.३४.७७
Abhyaavahati kalyaanam vividham vak subhashitaa I
Saiva durbhashitaa rajan anarthaya upapadyate II5.34.77
Sweet words spoken are beneficial and opens paths to progress but if the same thing is spoken in bitter words, it is painful and has far-reaching ill effects.(Vidura niti)
