 SUBHASHITHANI:617

अतो हास्यतरं लोके किञ्चिदन्यन्न विद्यते
यत्र दुर्जनमित्याह दुर्जनः सज्जनं स्वयम् ६२८
Ato hasyataram loke kinchidanyanna vidyate |
Yatra durjanamityaha durjnah sajjanam svayam ||
Nothing in this world is more ridiculous than one who is bad himself should name the good men as wicked.
अथवा जायमानस्य यच्छीलमनुजायते
श्रूयते तन्महाराज नामृतस्यापसर्पति ..

Shruyate Tanmaharaja Naamritsyaapasarpati 3.8.11
O king!The nature (svabhava)which is inherited at the time of birth, it is said, never leaves a being till death.- Vyasa to Dharmaputra
अथवा वसतो राजन्वने वन्येन जीवतः
द्रव्येषु यस्य ममता मृत्योरास्ये वर्तते १२.१३.

Athavaa Vasato Raajn vane Vanyena Jiivath.
Draveshu Yasya Mamataa Mrityoraasye sa vartate 12.13.10
O king, one who lives in the forest and subsists on fruits and roots, and still entertains selfishness about worldly things, should be considered as truly in the jaws of death. - Sahadeva to Dharmaraja
अदत्तस्यानुपादानं दानमध्ययनं तपः
अहिंसा सत्यमक्रोध इज्या धर्मस्य लक्षणम् १२.३६.१०
Adattasyaanupaadanam daanam adhyayanam tapah I
Ahimsa Satyamakrodh Ijya Dharmasya Saksanam 12.36.10
“Not taking away things for oneself which aren’t given voluntarily (non-stealing), charity, the study of scriptures, penance - austerities, nonviolence, truthfulness, being free from anger and performing yajña-s are the features of dharma”.  
अद्रोहः सर्वभूतेषु कर्मणा मनसा गिरा
अनुग्रहश्च दानं शीलमेतत्प्रशस्यते १२.१२४.६६
Adroha: Sarvabhuteshu karmana manasa gira I
Anugrahascha daanam cha sheelam etat pprashasyate II12.124.66
Non-malice to all creatures by deeds, thoughts, and words, and showing kindness and doing charity, these are Spoken as the elements of virtuous living.
अद्रोहेणैव भूतानामल्पद्रोहेण वा पुनः
या वृत्तिः परोधर्मस्तेन जीवामि जाजले १२.२६२.
Adrohenaiva Bhutanamalpadrohena vaa punah I
Yaa vruttih sa Parodharmastena Jiiwami Jajale 12.262.6
O Jajale, to live with out injuring any animal or with least injury to them , is the best form of dharma, following which I live. (Vaiysya to brahmin)
अधनं दुर्बलं प्राहुर्धनेन बलवान्भवेत्
सर्वं धनवता प्राप्यं सर्वं तरति कोशवान् १२.१३०.४९
Adhanam Durbalam Prahur dhanena Balwanbhavet I
Sarvam dhanavata prapyam sarvam tarati koshavaan II
Poverty, it is said, causes weakness; wealth makes one strong. Nothing is beyond the rich, one who has large treasure can overcome all obstacles. 
अधनाद्धि निवर्तन्ते ज्ञातयः सुहृदो द्विजाः
अपुष्पादफलाद्वृक्षाद्यथा कृष्ण पतत्त्रिणः .७२.२०
Adhanaddhi Nivrante gyaatayas suhrudo dvijaah I
Apushpaada phalad vrikshad yatha Krishna Patattrinah: 5.72.20
Just as the birds abandon the flowerless and fruitless trees, the relatives and friends of a poor man forsake him.
