One’s wealth and
properties remain at one’s home, friends and relatives take leave at cremation
ground. It is one’s good and evil actions that accompany oneself after death.

Persons
obsessed with becoming rich have no friends and relatives, and persons
who are lusty have no fear and any feeling of guilt for their actions.
Those who are deeply involved in acquiring knowledge and learning never lead a
comfortable lifestyle and sound sleep, and hungry and famished persons do not
have a well- structured body and good appearance.

Health, wisdom, friendship of virtuous people, birth in a noble family, personal freedom - these are the wealth that one can get even without any money.

Artha
is the pursuit of material wealth, which may bring material comfort to a
person. People sometimes believe that the path of spiritual growth and pursuit
of material wealth are mutually exclusive, or even that a spiritual seeker
needs to be in poverty. But that is not true.
Artha
is one of the basic human
dignities—to have enough assets to live on and care for our family, without
hoarding or being greedy. Acquiring wealth (artha) is a desirable objective, provided however it also serves
dharma, that is, the welfare of the society.
In this blog we will
see some popular ’subhashithani’ on artha.

Through proper use of wealth one can improve one's moral fibre. Similarly through proper moral conduct, wealth can also be acquired. In
fact the relationship between wealth and moral duty is reciprocal and they are
the means of growth for each other.Anyonyaashrayanam hyetedubhayotpattisaadhnam.

As this world is not for those who are without wealth, so the other world is not for those whose heart is incapable
of pity.

Among all types of cleanliness, being clean in finance is the cleanest.
The one who is clean in finance is the cleanest not the one who is clean with
respect to all other 9 forms of cleanliness that include body, clothes and so
on. Manu smruti

If the rich have a mind to give money, it is indeed a merit. If
the generous persons have enough money, it is also a merit. What to do? Wealth
and generosity do not go together! It is an ironical fact.

A wise man should not divulge the loss of money, distress of mind, quarrels at home and that he has been cheated or insulted.

When things happen as you like, you should not rejoice too much. You should not feel too sad when they go the other way also. When your wealth is destroyed, you should not lose your mind. One must not stray from the path of dharma ever.

Wealth is calamitous, thus reflect constantly; the
truth is that there is no happiness at all to be got from it. To the rich,
there is fear even from his son. This is the way with wealth everywhere.
