Freed from the clutches of egoism, as the moon from those of Rāhu, man attains to
his real nature, and becomes pure, infinite, ever blissful and
self-luminous.

pleasant, tranquil waters. Crystal-clear waters they are, like the pure heart

The wicked never change in spite of advice from the virtuous, just as coal even if it is powdered does not become purer.

Association with noble men help in distancing from sinful thoughts,
cleanses the mind, destroys the sins, enlarges feeling
of compassion. There is no benefit the company of virtuous men will
not bring .

Spotless be thou in mind! This only merits virtue's name; All
else, mere pomp of idle sound, no real worth can claim.

region of the mind, no portentous comet of evil can make its appearance.

After bathing the elephant, if it is left free, it will get muddy
in a second. But if you keep it restrained, then it will remain clean. Similarly,
our mind becomes clean when it comes in contact with a virtuous person. But if
you talk to worldly people later, it will again become polluted. However, if
you can restrain it by thinking about God at all times, then it can be kept
clean and pure.

We offer our obeisance to the men in whom these spotless
virtues abide: Desire for the company of the good, appreciation of merits in
others, reverence to elders, effort in learning, have love for their wives, are
scared of public censure, devotion to lord shiva, power of self-control and
casting off the company of the wicked .

It is said the fruit of actions performed in the
mode of goodness (satva) bestow pure results. Actions done in the mode of
passion result in pain, while those performed in the mode of ignorance result
in darkness.
