FEAR(2)-BHAYAM-भयं

SUBHASHITHANI:226
fear is death, fear is sin, fear is hell, fear is unrighteousness, fear is wrong life. All the negative thoughts and ideas that are in the world have proceeded from this evil spirit of fear. If there is one word that you find coming out like a bomb from the upanishads, bursting like a bombshell upon masses of ignorance, it is the word “fearlessness.” – Swami Vivekananda

 Who will not be scared of a wicked person who is capable of hatred without any reason? They have a ready stock of harsh words in their mouth just like the venom in the mouth of snake. ( Kadambari is a sanskrit novel written by Baana bhatta )

One must get over lust by teaching one self not to feel the need. By giving up lust, one can give up anger. One will give up greed once he realises that wealth is the source of so many miseries. Fear can be let go by proper understanding of philosophy.
राम-नाम जपतां कुतो भयं, सर्व ताप शमनैक भेषजम्ं ।।
Ram-naam japatam kuto bhayam , sarva taapa shamanaika bheshajam II

Where is fear for one who meditates on Rama nama? It is the anti-dote for all kinds of suffering.
पठतो नास्ति मूर्खत्वं जपतो नास्ति पातकम्
 मौनिनः कलहो नास्ति भयं चास्ति जाग्रतः
paThato nAsti mUrkhatvam japato nAsti pAtakam
mauninaH kalaho nAsti na bhayaM chAsti jAgrataH
If you read well, you will never appear foolish. You will not commit heinous crimes if you meditate regularly. If you stay silent, you will not get into fights. If you are alert, you will not have any fear.

कृषितो नास्ति दुर्भिक्षं जपतो नास्ति पातकम्‌।

For the one who farms, there is no famine; for the one who prays (does japa), there are no sins. Silence keeps away quarrels and fear, by taking proper precautionary measures.

Shot by Rāma with his arrow (earlier) he was so terrified that forgetting his house, wealth etc., he (Maareecha) repeatedly remembered Rāma only.

As long as a problem has not appeared ,manage to avoid occurrence of the problem with caution; once the problem has occurred fight it fearlessly.

An ambitious person should overcome the following six -resting (oversleeping), lethargy, fear, anger, laziness and procrastination.
आयुः कल्लोललोलं कतिपयदिवसस्थायिनी यौवनश्रीः
अर्थाः संकल्पकल्पा घनसमयतडिद्विभ्रमा भोगपूगाः

Life undulates like a wave. Youthful beauty lasts a few days. Riches are as short-lived as thoughts. The successive enjoyments are like autumnal lightning flashes. The beloved's embrace round the neck lasts only a moment. Lovingly tie your mind to Brahman to overcome the fear of crossing the ocean of cycles of births and deaths.

For fear of obstacles, nothing is begun at all by mean people;
ordinary people begin and stop when thwarted by difficulties;
but good (i.e. resolute) men, though repeatedly repelled by
adverse circumstances, do not give up what they have begun.

 Being freed from attachment , fear and anger, being fully absorbed in Me , taking refuge in Me , many persons in the past became purified by the knowledge of Me , and thus they all attained transcendental love for Me.
