As long as your body is healthy and under control and death is distant, try to save your soul; when death is imminent, what can you do?

prakprakṛitiṁ yānti bhūtāni nigrahaḥ kiṁ kariṣhyati
Even wise people act according to
their natures, for all living beings are propelled by their natural tendencies.
What will one gain by restrain?

प्रथमे नार्जिता विद्या द्वितीये नार्जितं धनम्।
तृतीये नार्जितं पुण्यं चतुर्थे किं करिष्यति॥

tṛtīye nārjitaṁ puṇyaṁ caturthe kiṁ kariṣyati||
If one has not acquired knowledge during first quarter(
brahma charya), one who has not acquired wealth in his second quarter (
Gruhastyam), one who has not acquired ‘punya’ in his third quarter ( Vaanaprastam), what will he do in the fourth?

satsaṅgatiḥ kathaya kiṃ na karoti puṃsām ||
The association of
the good removes the dullness of the intellect, cultivates truthfulness in
speech, enhances prestige, expiates the sin, comforts the conscience, extends one’s
fame in all directions. Say! What good is there which the company of the
devout doesn’t bring to a man.

त्यजेत्क्षुधार्ता महिला स्वपुत्रं
खादेत्क्षुधार्ता भुजगी स्वमण्डम् l
बुभुक्षितः किं न करोति पापं क्षीणा: नरा: निष्करुणा: भवन्ति॥
Afflicted by hunger, a woman abandons her child. Afflicted by hunger, a snake eats its own egg. What all sin, a starved person, does not commit? Emaciated persons become compassionless (cruel).

What can the wicked do to one who is armed with the bow of patience? Fire fallen on areas where there is no grass, is extinguished by itself.

By being associated with mango fruit will the nature of astringent juice( kashaaya) change?
