Pride of learning, pride of wealth, the pride of family, these three are
intoxications for the haughty, while these three make the virtuous humble and
self-controlled.

These three type of men are rare to find: A wealthy man who is not
culpable, a valiant man who is not boisterous, and a leader who is unbiased.

Envy tantamount to death. Harsh abusive language is
the death-knell to prosperity. Want of attention to the preceptor ,haste and
boastfulness are the three enemies of learning.
यत्ते समधिगच्छन्ति यस्य ते तस्य तद्धनम् ॥ ५७॥
These three, O king, are not entitled to their own wealth, viz., the
wife, the employee, and the son, and whatever may be earned by them would
belong to the one who supports them.

Sensational news, pure education (knowledge) and the smell of the musk deer's secretion - these three will spread all around the world without any help from others. Much like a drop of oil on th surface of water.

A member of the
twice-born classes is born with three kinds of debts — those owed to the
demigods, to the sages and to his forefathers. If he leaves his body without
first liquidating these debts by performing sacrifice, studying the scriptures
and begetting children, he will fall down into a hellish condition.

Three things one should be content with – one’s own
wife, food and wealth. Three things one should not be content with – learning,
japa (repetition of the names of the Lord) and charity (daana)

Bad teachers also get students due to the following
three reasons: 1.He (The student ) has no other go except accepting him as teacher as no one
else is available in and around, 2.Over politeness, 3. He is satisfied with the
half-baked knowledge he possesses.
