MOOKAH-मूकः - DUMB

 SUBHASHITHANI:370

Paraapavaade mookah paradaaranireekshane anyandhah I
Panguh paradhana hare sa jayati lokatrayam purushah II
In criticising others he is dumb, looking at other’s wives he is blind, grabbing other’s wealth he is lame; such a person can win over the three worlds.

– prashnottararatnamAlikA

Who is a blind person?  A person who is addicted to doing criminal deeds.
Who is a deaf person?  A person who does not listen to and heed good advice beneficial to him.
Who is a dumb person?   A person who is unable to express himself pleasantly andfavourably at the right time.

Riddle ( Prahelika )
Tishtaami paadena bali na pangah; daataa phalaanaam na krutir na yatnah I
Maunena jeevaami munir na mookah; sevyosmi koyam nrupatir na devah II

I am standing on my legs but neither Bali nor a lame. I gift fruits but not a  rich man.
I live in silence but neither a saint nor a dumb. I help people but neither a king nor an angel.
( Answer: Tree )

Avadoota gita 3.28

I am devoid of time, such as twilight - I have no disjunction. I am devoid of interiorness and awakening. I am neither deaf nor mute. I am thus devoid of illusion. I am not made pure by moods of mind. I am the nectar of knowledge, homogeneous existence, like the sky.

।Alavandar

“O Varada! I surrender myself to You. A mere drop of Your grace causes the deaf to hear, the lame to run, enables the dumb to speak, helps the blind to see and has a barren woman delivers a child”.

Let you feel  lucky being lame, for you will not go begging to other's house; feel happy that you are blind, for you won't see rich persons  refusing help; feel
great that you are dumb, for you don't need to praise misers; thank lord for your being deaf , that you don't need to hear fools.

Mookam karoti vaachaalam pangum langayate girim I
Yatkrupaa tamaham vane paramaatmaananda Madhavam II
I pray to Lord Krishna, by whose grace a dumb becomes wonderful speaker, a lame person climbs a mountain,

 SRI KRISHNAYA HUBHYAM NAMAH
