Salutations to mother Lakshmi, who is fond of Lotuses , Who is the Possessor of Lotuses, Who Holds Lotuses in Her Hands, Who Dwells in the Abode of Lotuses and Whose Eyes are like Lotus Petals. (Lotus indicates Kundalini )
Who is Fond of the Worldly Manifestations which are  Agreeable to Sri Vishnu; O Mother, bless me so that I Gain Nearness to Your Lotus Feet Within Me.

‘I bow to Lord Vishnu who has the three worlds as His body. The Earth is His feet,  the sky His navel. Wind is His breath, the Sun and the Moon are His eyes. Directions are His ears and the Heaven is His head. Fire is His face and the Ocean His abdomen. In Him is situated the Universe with diverse kinds of Devas, men, birds, cattle, serpents, gandharvas and daityas (demons)- all enjoying a pleasurable life’

The twain that lore of numbers and of letters give
Are eyes, the wise declare, to all on earth that live.

"Those two are in adulthood, good-looking, gentle yet greatly mighty, eyes broad like lotuses, dressed in jute-cloths and deerskin, subsistent on fruits and tubers, composed, sagacious and celibate, and they are the sons of Dasharatha, namely Rama and Lakshmana. [3-19-14,15]
रामः कमल पत्र अक्षः सर्व भूत मनो हरः |

"O Sita the daughter of Janaka! Rama has his eyes resembling the petals of a lotus. He is  handsomeness personified, attracting the hearts of all living beings. He is endowed with grace and dexterity, by birth."

What can 'Shashtra' do to a person bereft of basic intelligence and understanding ?
What use is a mirror to a blind person?

 मातृवत्परदारेषु परद्रव्येषु लोष्टवत्।

Aatmavatsarvabhooteshu yah pashyati sa panditah II
One who looks upon other men’s wives as mother, other people’s wealth as a lump of clay and all living beings as the Self is the real Pandita (wise and learned person )

It blasts many doubts, foresees what is not obvious |
Scriptural knowledge  is the eye of everyone, one who hasn't got it, is like a blind ||
कोऽर्थः पुत्रेण जातेन यो न विद्वान् न भक्तिमान् ।

Ko’rthah putrena jaatena yo na vidwaan na bhaktimaan
Kaanena chakshushaa kim vaa chakshuh peedaiva kevalam
What is the purpose of having a son who is neither learned nor devoted to God? It is useless to have a blind eye which will only result in eye-ache.
