Wise men show courage and praise worthiness even when they are faced with difficulties; the moon , even when it is being swallowed by the snakes ( Rahu,Ketu ) ,still retains its beauty.( Vidhu:-Moon; vidhumtudaa-causing trouble to moon )

Remembering the small amount of water which it was given in its early age, the coconut trees carry nectar like water on their head throughout their life. [In the same manner] good and noble people do not forget a favour done to them.

Once the help is rendered to the needy, Do not wait for any return of gratitude, for
The coconut palm that takes water in its roots Delivers it later as sweet juice at its top

Gagā pāpa śaśī tāpa dainya kalpatarustathā

Bath in the Ganges removes sins, light of the full moon removes heat and Kalpaka
vruksham  removes poverty whereas company of the virtuous removes all  the three.

It is good men who spread the messages and tales of great qualities of saints; it is the wind that carries the fragrance of the flowers in various directions.
Tushyanti bhojanaair vipraah mayooraa Ghana garjitaih I
Saadhavah parakalyaanaih khalaah paravipattibhih  II
Brahmanas are pleased when served with food; peacocks are happy when they hear the thundering clouds; the wise men are happy to see others happy; while the wicked men are pleased to see the difficulties of others.
( * This is mostly misinterpreted as Brahmins are fond of eating. But the real meaning is that, unlike others who are very difficult to be pleased, Brahmins are pleased with a simple meal and offer their blessings whole heartedly to the host )
Na prahyashyati sammaanaih naavamaanairh prakupyati  I
Na kruddhah purusham bhrooyat etat saadhostu lakshanam  II
The virtuous are neither elated when rewarded , nor are they upset when insulted. Even if they get angry , they will not speak harsh words. This is the hall-mark of great men.
yathā citta tathā vāca yathā vācastathā kriyāḥ
citte vāci kriyāyāñca sādhūnāmekarūpatā
As is the mind so is the speech; as is the speech so is the action; there is uniformity in the mind, diction and action of the noble.
vikti naiva gacchanti sagadoea sādhava|
āveṣṭita mahāsarpaiścandana na viṣāyate||
Great people are not affected by company of bad people. Just as , a sandal wood tree envelope by great serpents does not turn poisonous.
Chanakya niti
pralaye bhinnamaryādā bhavanti kila sāgarāḥ
 sāgarā bhedamicchanti pralaye’pi na sādhava
At the time of the Pralaya (universal resolution) the oceans are to exceed their limits and seek to change, but a saintly man never changes.

What is great  in showing virtue towards one's benefactor? The noble say that “he  who can be virtuous to his wrongdoers too, is great!”
Saadhoonaam darshanam punyam teerthabootaah hi saadhavah
Teertham phalati kaalena sadyah saadhusamaagamah
The sight of saintly persons is punyam. Such saintly persons are like sacred rivers or lakes (teerthabhootaah) which absolve one’s sins. The holy waters (Teerthas) give results in their own time. The meeting with saintly persons gives instant results.
Thyaja durjanasamsargam bhaja saadhusamaagamam
Kurupunyamahoraatram smara nityamanityataam
Abandon the company of evil men, associate with good and noble men, do good meritorious deeds day and night and always think of the evanescence of the world.
