एको देवो देवकीपुत्र एव ।
एको मन्त्रस्तस्य नामानि यानि
कर्माण्येकं तस्य देवस्य सेवा ॥
eko devo devaki-putra eva
eko mantras tasya namani yani
karmapy ekam tasya devasya seva
There is only one Scripture – the Gita; There is only one God – Sri Krishna, the son of Devaki; There is only one mantra – His name; There is only on desirable action – His service.
यस्मिन् शास्त्रे पुराणे वा हरि भक्तिर न दृश्यते I
श्रोतव्यं नैव तत् शास्त्रम् यदि ब्रह्मा स्वयं वदेत् II
Yasmin shaastre puraane vaa hari baktir na drusyate I
Shrotavyam naiva tat shaastram yadi bramhaa svayam vadet II
In whatever shastraa or puraanaa , there is no mention of
devotion to sri Vishnu( Hari) such shaastram or puraanaam should not be
entertained even if it is narrated by Brahmaaji himself.
धर्मोपदेशविख्यातं कार्याकार्यं शुभाशुभम् II Chanakya niti
dharmopadeśavikhyātaṃ kāryākāryaṃ śubhāśubham ॥
That man who by the study of these maxims from the shatras acquires a knowledge of the most celebrated principles of duty, and understands what ought and what ought not to be followed, and what is good and what is bad, is extremely wise.
स्वभावेनैव तच्छास्त्रं स्त्रीबुद्धौ सुप्रतिष्ठितम् ॥
uśanā veda yac chāstraṃ yac ca veda bṛhaspatiḥ |
strī-buddhyā na viśiṣyete tāḥ sma rakṣyāḥ kathaṃ naraiḥ ||
All the wisdom and intelligence up attributed to Shukracharya and Bruhaspati is already present naturally in a woman.
वसनाशनमात्रेण तुष्टाः शास्त्रफलानि ये ।
जानन्ति ज्ञानबन्धूंस्तान्विद्याच्छास्त्रार्थशिल्पिनः॥Yoga vaasishta
Vasanaashana maatrena tushtaah shaastra phalaani ye I
Jaananti gyana bandhootaan vidyaa shastra shilpinah II
Those who are
satisfied with their food and dress only, as the best gain of their learning,
are only learned just for the namesake and should be considered as artisans of
education.
न शस्त्रेण न शास्त्रेण सर्वथा विषमा: स्त्रिय:।।Hitopadesa
Na shastrena na shaastrena sarvathaa vishamaah striyah II
Not by gifts, not by honour, not by simplicity, not by service, not by threatening, not with scriptural advice, can woman be won over.
व्यसनेन तु मूर्खाणां निद्रया कलहेन वा॥
vyasanena cha muurkhANam nidrayA kalahena vA ||
The time of the wise passes by entertainment with arts and sciences.
that of the foolish goes by troubles, sleep or quarrel.
न स सिद्धिमवाप्नोति न सुखं न परां गतिम् ॥BG16.23॥
तस्माच्छास्त्रं प्रमाणं ते कार्याकार्यव्यवस्थितौ ।
ज्ञात्वा शास्त्रविधानोक्तं कर्म कर्तुमिहार्हसि ॥BG16.24॥
Therefore, let the Sastra be your authority for determining what should be done and what should not be done. Knowing what is enjoined in the injunctions of the Sastra, you should perform work here.
