PERSEVERANCE AND HARD WORK = TO SUCCESS

कोSतिभारः समर्थानाम किं दूरं व्यवसायिनाम्  |
को विदेशः सविद्यानाम् : परः प्रियवादिनाम् ||चाणक्य नीति
Kotibhaarah samarthaanaam kim dooram vyavasaayinaam.
Ko videshah  savidyaanaam kah parah priyavaadinaam.Chanakya neeti
What is heavy for a capable man? What is distance for a business man? Which is a. foreign country for a learned man? Who is an alien to a sweet spoken person?
प्रारभ्यते खलु विघ्नभयेन नीचैः
प्रारभ्य विघ्नविहिताः विरमन्ति मध्याः
 विघ्नैःपुनः पुनरपि प्रतिहन्यमानाः
प्रारब्धमुत्तमजनाः परित्यजन्ति।। Neeti satakam

 The mean never start a venture for fear of facing obstacles. Mediocres, having started, on being encountered by impediments withdraw from the project. Men of excellence
 despite being repeatedly discouraged by obstacles never abandon the job till they achieve success.
उद्योगिनं पुरुषसिंहमुपैति लक्ष्मीः
दैवेन देयमिति का पुरुषा वदन्ति
दैवं निहत्य कुरु पौरुषमात्मशक्त्या
यत्ने कृते यदि सिध्यति कोडत्र दोषः ।। 
UdhYoginam purushsinhamupaiti lakshmi.Daivena deyam iti kaa purushaa vadanti Daivam nihatya kuru paurushamaatamshaktyaa.Yatne krite yadi na sidhyati kah atra doshah.
Success comes to those who put in hard work without fear of failure; only mean persons will say that success depends only on destiny. If one makes effort to the best of his ability without worrying about providence  and still does not succeed there is nothing  bad about it.
आलस्यं ही मनुष्याणां  शरीरस्थो महान् रिपूः I
नास्तुध्यम समो बंधुः  कुर्वाणो नावसीदती II
aalasyan hi manusyanam  sarirasto mahaan ripuh I
nastudhyam samo bandhu  kurvaNao naavasiidati II
Laziness is the greatest enemy of man and there is nothing equivalent to perseverance (work) , the persevering man will never come to grief.
अकामां कामयानस्य शरीरमुपतप्यते।
 इच्छतीं कामयानस्य प्रीतिर्भवति शोभना।।Ramayana

 One must love to do something that really interests him, for that would be a pleasing endeavour. If someone embarks upon a venture that doesn't entice him the result is bound to be a self-damaging.
अनिर्वेदो हि सततं सर्वार्थेषु प्रवर्तकः।
 करोति सफलं जन्तोः कर्म यच्च करोति सः।। Ramayana
Freedom from despondency gives great happiness and leads to success, the adventurous campaign of a man certainly bears fruit. 
 उत्साह सम्पन्नं अधीर्घ सूत्रं क्रियाविधिज्ञं व्यसनेष्वासक्तं |
शूरं कृतज्ञं दृढ़सौह्रदं च लक्ष्मीः स्वयं याति निवासहेतोः ||
Utsaah sampannam Adheergha sutram kriya vidhigyam vyasaneshva saktam
Shuram krutagyam Dhruda Souhrudam cha lakshmeehi svyam yaati nivasa hetoho
The goddess Lakshmi (wealth) comes all by herself to stay with a person who is enthusiastic, never procrastinates, skilful in work , one who is not interested in bad habits, brave, grateful and consistent gratitude.
ஆக்கம் அதர்வினாய்ச் செல்லும் அசைவிலா
ஊக்க முடையா னுழை.-Kural-594

Wealth will find its own way to the man of  unfailing  ( untiring and with perseverance) energy.
क्षणशः कणशश्चैव विद्यामर्थं च साधयेत् ।
 क्षणत्यागे कुतो विद्या कणत्यागे कुतो धनम्॥
Knowledge should be gained through minute by minute efforts. Money should be earned utilizing each and every resource. If you waste time, how can you get knowledge. If you waste resources, how can you accumulate the wealth.
सहसा विदधीत न क्रियां   अविवेकः परमापदां पदम् |
वृणते हि विमृश्यकारिणं   गुणलुब्धाः स्वयमेव संपदः ||   – किरातार्जुनीय
sahasaa vidadheeta na kriyaam   avivekah paraapadaam I
vruNate hi vimrushyakaariNam   guNalubdhaah svayameva sampadah II

One must not hurry while starting something important. If you hurry, it is a recipe for disaster. Success automatically comes to those who patiently plan before starting something. Success is attracted towards such qualities.   – Kiratarjuniya
उद्धरेदात्मनात्मानं नात्मानमवसादयेत् |
आत्मैव ह्यात्मनो बन्धुरात्मैव रिपुरात्मन: || BG6.5||
uddhared ātmanātmānaṁ nātmānam avasādayet
ātmaiva hyātmano bandhur ātmaiva ripur ātmanaḥ
 Elevate yourself through the power of your mind, and not degrade yourself, for the mind can be the friend and also the enemy of the self.
