Even ordinary persons get respectability and dignity in the company of talented and virtuous persons, just like the ordinary thread, which, when attached to a garland of flowers manages to get placed over the head of a dignitary.

An
Acharya (spiritual guide- person having knowledge of all Vedas, is ten times superior to an Upadhyaya (Person
who masters part of Vedas,, Father is like
hundred Acharyas, and person's Mother is thousand times superior to Father!
Kalidasa excels in the use of similes and metaphors in his poetry, Bharavi’s works are pregnant with meaning, Dandi’s language is simple and lilting and poet Magha combines in him all the three qualities mentioned above.

In
a house, only if the student, the wife, the kid brother, the son, the servant
and any dependent is obedient to you, then you will have respect in the
society.

Fame
is obtained by donating (giving) money, not collecting it. Clouds (giver of
water) have a high position whereas the seas (reservoirs of water) have a low
position.

People do not show such loyalty and
affection towards learned and great persons of noble lineage as they always
show towards rich persons. Oh ! even the sacred river Ganges, whom Lord Shiva even
held on his forehead, immediately and hastily proceeded to meet the
Ocean.

Persons
of lowest category desire only acquisition of wealth. whereas those of middle category desire both wealth and respect in the society. However, persons of the
highest category desire only due respect, because for great people
respectability in the society is like wealth for them.

It is the duty of a student that he should
revere his Guru intelligently with good
manners and respect. Therefore, he should be very patient and never go beyond
or against the instructions given by his Guru.

Only honourable
persons give due respect to other honourable persons and surely not so by other
ordinary persons. Just see, how Lord
Shiva adorns the vibrant moon by placing it over his forehead, whereas Raahu
(Dragon's head) seizes the Moon during the Lunar Eclipse.

Who
can keep arrogance out even after becoming wealthy? Who can claim that all
their troubles are over? Whose mind has not been broken by a lady? Who does a
king like? Who can cheat death for ever? Which beggar has ever gotten any
respect? Who has come back to right path after having strayed to the path of
sin?

A
critic, if he writes something in opposition to the original, it becomes very
famous. But, if somebody writes even a very good commentary appreciating the
original, hardly anyone will appreciate it. Even a small defaming is
appreciated; a beautiful large work of appreciation will be ignored. This is
the way of the world.

Even
at the cost of one’s life one should protect his honour; Life is ephemeral but
honour stays for ever. ( Bhima to Krishna )
