He who sends as a messenger to a king’s court one who is foolish, avaricious and one who speaks untruth, will fail in his objective.

Even when weapons are raised and relatives are killed , a messenger should not be killed by a king, even if he speaks unpalatable words. ( Rabbit messenger to the elephant king )

The crow continued with further narratives as to why the owl should not be made the  king.

शशकपिञ्जलकथा- The story of rabbit and the sparrow

Once there lived a sparrow in the hollow of a tree. It went out for seeking food and didn't return for some time. In the mean time a rabbit came and occupied the hollow in the tree. A few days later the sparrow returned and claimed the place. Unable to solve the issue the two of them went for justice to a cat acting like a saint. Needless to say both lost their lives.

Even if one has to live in utter poverty, the joy he gets when staying in his own home and city is far higher than the pleasure he will get by living in heaven.

Enjoyment itself is proof of ownership, if a person spends ten years in cases like land in one’s presence; neither a witness nor documentary proof is needed.
