supūrā
syāt kunadikā supūro mūṣikāñjaliḥ |
susantuṣṭaḥ kāpuruṣaḥ svalpakenāpi tuṣyati || 2.143 ||
A small river gets filled
up easily; so is the cavity of the hands of a mouse; a mean fellow is contented
easily with very little.
naya-vikrama-saṃyogas tatra śrīr acalā dhruvaṃ || 2.144 ||

Wealth, even though given to an unlucky man, who, dull witted, gets satisfied with little, passes off from him.
kṛta-niścayino

cātakaḥ ko varāko 'yaṃ yasyendro vārivāhakaḥ || 2.147 ||
Such people are praiseworthy
who act with resolution once having decided on certain course of action; mere
high position is of no use; of what consequence is the poor chataka bird which
has Indra for its water-bearer?
tāvat syāt
sarva-kṛtyeṣu puruṣo 'tra svayaṃ prabhuḥ |
strī-vākyāṅkuśa-vikṣuṇṇo yāvan no dhriyate balāt ||2.148 ||
A man is able to manage
all his activities independently so long as he is not forcibly held back by his
wife’s advice.
( In the "story of a jackal following a bull"- The wife says angrily to her husband that the scrotum of the bull will fall and he should get it, as she is bored of eating rat meat every day. )
Thirukkural-909
With them who live obedient to their wives' behests.

akṛtyaṃ
manyate kṛtyaṃ agamyaṃ manyate sugam |
abhakṣyaṃ manyate bhakṣyaṃ strī-vākya-prerito naraḥ || 2.149 ||
A man impelled by the
words of a woman thinks what is unfit to be done as fit to do, inaccessible as
accessible, and what is unfit to be eaten as fit to eat.
agnihotra-phalā
vedāḥ śīla-vṛtta-phalaṃ śrutam |
rati-putra-phalā dārā datta-bhukta-phalaṃ dhanam || 2.150 ||
Vedas bestow the benefits due to performing of agnihotra; development of good character is the result of scriptural study; the reward of wives is love and children; the benefits of prosperity are enjoyment and charity.
