Whom does not afflict
diseases who indulge in eating unwholesome food? Which bad minister does not
stand guilty of ill-advice? Whom does wealth not render proud? Whom does death
not strike down? To whom do not possessions bring pain and woe.

A greedy person soon loses any scope for fame. A rumour monger loses his friends. A perpetual wrong-doer loses his family. A person whose only aim is to earn money strays from the path of dharma - the moral code of life. An addict loses any chance at getting good education. A miser loses piece of mind. A king with a bad (mad) minister loses his kingdom.

I haven’t felt so pleasant riding an elephant, or on horse-back
or driving in a chariot, or being
carried in a vehicle borne by men, as I feel now riding on the back of
MandaVisha(The snake ).

These frogs of various
kinds have been secured by me by a clever stratagem; how long will they not be
exhausted when devoured by me.

I know well that it is not for me to carry frogs on my back ;but I am just biding time like the ‘brahmin gruthaandah’. (darduraih- frogs )
