SUBHASHITHAM:109

Arthaanaam arjane duhkham arjitaanaam cha rakshane.
Aaye duhkham vyaye duhkham dhig arthaah kashtasanshrayaah.
Earning money causes hardship , there is pain in protecting whatever has been earned. There is pain when it comes and more when it is spent. Fie on Money which is the cause of never ending hardship.

kshanashah kanashaschaiva vidhyaam artham cha saadhayet I
Kshanatyaage kuto vidhyaa kanatyage kuto dhanamII
Knowledge should be pursued with minute by minute efforts. Money should be earned utilising each and every grain. If you waste time, how can you get knowledge ? If you waste resources, how can you accumulate the wealth ?
Friends leave the man without money, so do wives, sons and other affectionate people. They all come back after the man is again wealthy : Wealth is the only relative  of man in this world.
A friend's test is in calamity, the test of a valiant person is on the battlefield. The test of a family is in its' humility and the test of one's character is in poverty.
Arthaaturaanaaam na shrunna bndhuh kaamaaturaanaam na bhayam na lajjaa
Vidyaaturaanaam na sukham na nidraa kshudhaaturaanaam na vapurn na tejah.
Persons obsessed with becoming rich have no friends and relatives, and  persons who are lusty have no fear and any feeling of guilt for their actions.  Those who are deeply involved in acquiring knowledge and learning never lead a comfortable lifestyle and sound sleep, and hungry and famished persons do not have  a well- structured body and good appearance.
Videsheshu dhanam vidhyaa, vyasaneshu dhanam mati: I Paraloke dhanam dharma sheelam sarvatra vai dhanam.Knowledge (‘Vidya’) is the real wealth, in a foreign land, So is Cleverness, at tough times. Righteousness (‘Dharma’) is the only wealth that can help obtain  Heaven . Verily, Good Conduct (‘Sheel’) is the wealth everywhere and at all the times!
There are only three ends of wealth- Charity, enjoyment or destruction. One who neither gives, nor enjoys, leaves open only the third course for it
